Service/Repair makes your available budget go further

BEFORE

AFTER

SERVICE

Our aim is to provide you with the kind of service which justifies

spending money on your instruments.  To that end, we tell you :

  • what we find wrong with your instrument(s)

  • inform you of the cost(s)

  • after which you issue your instructions to us.

   No sudden surprises on completion!

Should a problem arise during the work, we immediately

call you to discuss it and wait for your instruction.

In short, you always control the situation.

From the smallest repair/service to full strip and rebuild overhauls, plating and lacquering,

our experienced and able technicians are able to give you the best

professionally qualified service available in South Africa.

We manufacture mouthpieces to order and can refurbish existing ones.

P.S.  We’re looking for damaged instruments to buy for spare parts.

HISTORY

Beautiful Brass was formed in 1982 to cater for the servicing and repair of

school, church, defence and police instruments.  Although we have strayed into the supply of

both new and used instruments from time to time, our main focus remains

service repair and the supply of accessories.

In so doing we have assisted many institutions in saving a great deal of money

whilst improving the value of their instrument stock should they decide to sell.

In addition,  we have given many lectures to various bands on

self or user maintenance which has also saved them money.

As a player of over fifty years standing in a variety of different professional bands,

orchestra’s and groups, (and still very active with the Dixie Swingers Dixieland Band),

I’m very aware of the problems that can occur so a telephone call

asking for advice is a helpful service I’m very happy to give - Ed Backhouse.

ODDS & ENDS

MAGAZINE

Some ten years ago we printed a monthly magazine (The Copper/Tin/Zinc Magazine)

with articles regarding school, defence, church, police and prison service bands

plus orchestras, Coons and Christmas Choir Bands.

It gave people a chance to advertise instruments for sale or wanted,

lost or stolen instruments and even employment opportunities

plus articles regarding forthcoming performances,

histories and other music related articles of interest.

If you have items of interest that you would like publicised,

please send them to me and let us see whether we can revive what was

an interesting monthly news letter.  I’ll take articles for inclusion up to 10 days

prior to the end of the month.

JAZZ

With the Dixie Swingers,  we have started giving introductory

educational 45 minute concerts in schools.  If this interests you,

please call Ed Backhouse on 021 696 7425
